Seafood is loved all over the world, and many restaurants make seafood for customers every day. Here in Liverpool, there are lots of great options for seafood restaurants. That is because Liverpool has always had connections with the sea through the River Mersey. With all these options, you have many to choose from, and you don’t want to waste time sieving through all the reviews to find out which is the best. That’s where we come in. We have sampled the seafood restaurants in Liverpool and come up with a list of the three we would recommend to anyone looking for the best seafood Liverpool has to offer.
Kelp - Duke Street Market
Our first choice is kelp at Duke street market, and it’s definitely worth the visit. Kelp carefully sources the highest quality, sustainable, fresh fish & seafood in the North West. That allows them to deliver outstanding and innovative dishes for you to enjoy.
Their native lobsters are caught sustainably by small creel boats fishing in Scotland and its surrounding islands and coastlines. The creels cause little or no damage to the surrounding habitat. You can trace every lobster they serve back to the fishing boat, ensuring its quality and freshness from sea time to tea time.
Their lobsters are fantastic! Their lobsters are cooked in garlic butter and served with fries and hollandaise. So if you are a fan of lobsters, this is the place for you. However, if lobster isn’t for you, they have other seafood delights on their menu like Mersea Island rock oysters, Pan-fried sea bass fillet and more!

Their executive Chef, Skevos Paraskeva, has worked in many restaurants across Europe and has brought his exceptional skills to Liverpool. Here he delivers quality and presentation second to none, so you are getting quality food from an established chef.
They offer classic seafood options such as fish cakes, mussels, scallops, calamari, fish and chips, lobster and a seafood platter. They also have a grill section on their menu. The Italian Fish Club
Last but by no means least, our final pick is The Italian Club Fish. Fish has long been part of their lives, dating back to their great-great-grandparents, who crossed the shores from the Italian mountain village of Picinisco to settle in the UK. They made their living by supplying the local communities with the British favourite of Fish & Chips. Their menus draw on the nostalgic dishes of their hometowns in Lazio and Puglia and marry them with the extensive experience of their Chef Patron, Maurizio Pellegrini, in refining and revisiting those dishes for 21st-century dining.
On their menu, there is everything you would expect to see from a top-class seafood restaurant. Oysters, king prawns, mussels, calamari, fish cakes and more! They offer some Italian dishes such as Spaghettini, pasta and risotto, which, thanks to their Italian heritage, are done well and fit right into this predominantly fish menu.
They offer daily catch dishes which can include fresh Sea Bass, Whole Lemon Sole, Monkfish, Swordfish. They are grilled to perfection and come with two side orders of your choice. The prices of these are subject to change due to market prices. That is well worth it for fresh fish cooked expertly. Their show stopper is the whole lobster. Grilled whole lobster cracked and prepared fresh by their Chef, served with homemade fries, mixed leaves and garlic butter.
