We had the pleasure of being invited to Blue Coat Social on the weekend. Although the menu was pretty basic the food was delicious!
For my main, I decided to have the special of the day, which was a vegan Nut Roast Burger. Vegan dishes often have a reputation of not having much flavour, but not at Blue Coat! The burger was packed full of tasty flavours. It was served beside a colourful salad, pesto pasta and delicious chunky homemade chips.
I was spoiled for choice when trying the dessert menu. They had a huge variety of freshly baked cakes. The Victoria Sponge was definitely my favourite as the cake itself was very light with a thick, sweet clotted cream icing, with a smooth layer of tangy strawberry jam.
But I didn’t stop there, I decided to treat my self to the mint chocolate brownie, the brownie its self was delicious but was overpowered by the rich mint flavouring.
Overall our visit to Blue Coat was great, as the food was terrific. The waiter went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and was very welcoming. Be sure to try the amazing selection of cakes when you next visit Blue Coat!
