There are many spots to choose from here in Liverpool, so it was tough to get it down to three, but these spots stick out to us.
Roccos - Pins Social Club
Our first choice for the best lunch spots in Liverpool is Roccos. They are based at Pins Social Club and are a deli/diner. Then the is The Ruben sandwich, pastrami, swiss cheese, mustard, sweet cured pickle, sauerkraut and salad. Next is the grilled cheese is a five cheese combo on thick-cut bread. There is also the chicken parma, breaded chicken topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella and rocket. Finally, there are their famous Pins Social Club sandwiches, pulled chicken, crispy pancetta, sliced cheese, red onion, fried egg, house slaw, salad, sun blush tomato and mayo. Our next choice is Derek’s sandwich shop. Dereks make some of the best sandwiches in the city. Dereks is relatively new to Liverpool, but since it opened its doors it has been selling unforgettable subs, fantastic coffee all in a shop that makes you feel like you have walked into New York, giving us a feel of the new york culture it’s no wonder we included it in this list for the best lunch spots in Liverpool. Dereks has a range of sandwiches, including the Gabagool, The TKY, Skinny Dennis, Paulie Walnuts and our favourite, the Reubenstein. Their Reubenstein sandwich consists of pastrami, Emmental, sauerkraut, pickle, Dereks sauce, all on toasted Challah. The Reuben Sandwich is one of New Yorks best contributions to the world of food. Dereks has put a twist of their own on the New York classic by using toasted Challah, a super soft and slightly sweet bread. On top of sandwiches, they serve some great fresh coffee. If you are up for supporting them, or just like the style, they also sell their own merch online. They have T-shirts and sweatshirts that have their logos and other cool things on them. If you are in the area, this is a must-try when it comes to lunches.
Cahita - Duke Street Market
Our final choice is Cahita which is located at Duke Street Market here in Liverpool. Cahita serves up Latin American inspired dishes and definitely will not disappoint. Their fried chicken sandwich consists of buttermilk fried chicken, n’duja mojo, house pickle, mojo mayo and lettuce all together on a soft brioche bun. Cahita started serving their famous grilled Cubano sandwiches in several North West residencies before settling at Duke Street in 2019. From Cuban classics to creating new Latin inspired dishes along the way, for a lunchtime that you won’t forget, get yourself down to Cahita, it is not to be missed when visiting Duke Street Market.
